Stevan mentions that the song was composed during his dreams, a reoccurring dream over the course of five years. The music appeared in sections and shape-shifted through time, but eventually settled into the final work. Through the years, Stevan would awake and score out the melodies and chords he could recall and, in the end, pieced together the sections into the final work. The song is in the key of D major with the sixth string tuned to D. The song modulates several times and returns to the original key. Although Stevan has composed hundreds of songs, he said that this is his favorite.

Stevan Pasero is recognized as a important contributor to the guitar repertoire over the past three decades. He has transcribed numerous symphonic works and composed, arranged and produced records for solo, duo and various ensembles. He has recorded 50 albums of music and his works appear on over 1000 other albums. Pasero performs, composes, and records guitar works in several idioms. He attended San Francisco State University where he studied musical analysis, harmony and composition, which led to some post-graduate work in transcription and orchestration. Mr. Pasero is owner and principal of four music publishing and distribution companies.
